Was at a Secret Location shooting a star bird. As always, after I got the shot, I vacated the spot and went for a walk.

I got to a viewing platform, and was tracking a kingfisher when a group of older ladies came trudging in.

They were in their 70s, and I loved how their poses were throwback moves from the 80s. The one arm on the hip with one hand against the head. The V arms. The L shaped sitting pose. One refused to have her picture taken so she became the designated photographer.

They made so much noise and typically I would get annoyed and move off, but I loved watching them. I didn't even mind the calls they were making endlessly.

The ladies were all sisters; one video- called her son and made him greet all the ah-yis. He went, Ah Yi, Ah Yi, Ah Yi, as the phone was passed around to each sister, so that they could get their turn at the greeting.

Another one showed via a video call the scenery and said to the person she was calling, "You see I am where now? Nice not? I climbed until my legs tomorrow I have to hang them!"

One had her call on speaker mode and I could hear the conversation between her daughter and her. I thought her daughter was terribly rude, saying quite awful stuff to her mum, but the lady only laughed and retorted just as tactlessly in response.

Another one was also on the phone. A loud CHOY would emerge every now and then during her conversation. It was as if the louder the choy, the better its efficacy. At one point, she went CHOY CHOY CHOY, each choy more vehement than the one preceding it.

When they eventually left after about 20 minutes, I quite missed their energy and noise. They made me wonder if my aunts and my mum behaved like that when they were out and together.
